The Seminar dates for 2007 have been changed to October 22 through October 26.

Let everyone know that Gerri Thompson passed away today.  John Lough called but didn't know any details.

This is my new E-mail address:  costreas@centurytel.net

Leola Harris, a bankruptcy expert formerly employed by the City and County of Denver, made a bankruptcy presentation at the Eastern Division held in Limon on September 14, 2006.  She graciously granted permission to duplicate the notebook she handed out to participants on our web site.  It can be found under General Info or by clicking here.

Here is the PowerPoint Presentation I used at the summer Conference.  Feel free to copy all or any portion.  HB 1387 Presentation

Geri Thompson is in the hospital with numerous issues. If you would like to send her cards she is at:

Lutheran Medical Center, 8300 W. 38th Ave., Wheatridge, CO 80033.

We do not have a room number as they were going to move her to a new room.

Mesa State College needs a Course Syllabus from every presenter at a CCTA/CPTA function in order for them to give proper credit for the Certification program.

The Metro Division will be having its Summer meeting on Friday, August 18, 2006.  The site is the Heritage Eagle Bend Golf & Country Club, 23155 East Heritage Parkway, Aurora, CO (just off E-470 south on the Gartrell Road exit).  A training session will be held at 10:00 - 11:15 AM on Colorado Statutes that allow the write-off of uncollectable taxes.  Bring your staff.  The luncheon will begin at 11:30 with a social time and noon for the luncheon.  Our speaker will be Mike Coffman speaking on his tour of duty in Iraq.

Registration forms, a map and further information will be supplied in late June or early July.

Dear CCTA and CCPTA members,

You may have sent a card, said a prayer, or called, but you took time out of your busy day to send your condolences on the passing of my Father. You all are so special and I appreciate you so much. And then there were the flower arrangements, they were just beautiful.
Thanks to a wonderful group of caring people.

Lynne Bauer
Crowley County

I just received a call from Liz, Lynne Bauer’s deputy in Crowley County.  Lynne’s father passed away last night.

Cards may be sent to her home address:
    503 Reeves Dr.

I just telephoned Traves.  She said she is able to walk without problems as her injuries were to her upper body.  Both of them dislocated their left shoulders.  Traves can use her left arm but it is weak.  Derall cannot use his and they are going to have his rotator cuff checked Friday for possible surgery.  Derall has to wear a hard “turtle” back brace to walk with crutches but they didn’t think he would ever walk with his spinal damage.  She goes to physical therapy twice a week and Derall three times a week.  They have to have help as she cannot put Derall’s back brace on him.  Their children are taking turns staying with them.  Traves sounded very good and she hopes they can make the summer conference!

It was good to visit with her.  She also said they have had 36 “key” county employees quit, hired an in-house attorney and a new administrator.

My husband's father passed away on Thursday evening (suddenly and unexpected). For those of you who know him or may have County Commissioner's who know him, can you please pass this on.

If you would like to send a card of sympathy, please send it to Wayne Williams, 3472 Research Parkway, Suite 104, Colorado Springs, CO 80920. He will not be home until mid-April, but I am sure that this whole thing will hit him really hard at that point and he could use some support.

Thank you,

Holly Williams

Travis and Derall have been moved to the Jim Thorpe Rehab Center, 4219 South Western, Oklahoma City, OK  73109, Room 5234.  Travis is doing a little better, Derall I guess is still not mobile and his lung has a 50% collapse.  It will be a while before going home.  Will let you know when I hear more.

In case any of you are unaware, Travis and Derall were in an accident in Oklahoma on Monday the 20th.  They had gone back to Oklahoma to move some things out of a house they had sold.  They pulled the trailer onto the highway to go to the storage area when they hit an icy spot and rolled their truck 2 3/4 times.  They were trapped in their truck and I guess it was a long time before they could get Darrell out.  They are both in critical condition and in ICU at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.  So far as we know they both have broken ribs, punctured lungs, many cuts, Travis has 17 staples in her head, Derall has a broken collar bone and fractured vertebrae and both of them may have more wrong but they cannot do an MRI because of their condition.  Right now they are well sedated.  You can send cards to their daughter Judy Blakley, 17907 W. Hwy 66, Calumet, OK, 73014.  I will keep everyone posted as I get information.  Her office has been inundated with calls so I am trying to help alleviate some of them.  Please keep them in your prayers.

I want to thank everyone for the flowers, cards, emails and phone calls following the passing of my mother.  Tammy and I and our entire family greatly appreciated them.

The State Treasurer asked to have the calendar of HUTF payments to County Treasurers posted on our web site.  It is on the forms page or can be reached by clicking here.
