EASTERN DIVISION

MARCH 13th & 14th, 2008

Limon, Colorado

Thursday, March 13:

After the Picnic-in of Arby’s sandwiches at the Tyme Square, Lynne started the round table discussion for the new P.T. Legislation. There were 37 present. She asked for only 1 speaker at a time.  We had a break at 2:45 and then resumed the round table.  The P.T. Executive Board would meet immediately after the meeting to discuss some legislature clean up that was raised during the round table.

The group met at the Southside Café for dinner, and games afterwards at the motel.  The Treasurer’s Executive Board met during this time also.

Friday, March 14:

After the Pledge of Allegiance led by Lynne, she called the meeting to order and the minutes were passed out.  They were read by the group and were approved. There were 25 present. The Treasurer’s report was presented for audit.  The balance on hand as of March 12, 2008 was $10,087.21. Jim Covington moved to pay for the rooms of the members for the fall meeting, Michelle Miller seconded.  The motion was approved.

Lynne asked for Committee Reports:

P.T. Legislative – Bob Sagel said there was a clean up bill for the new P.T. Legislation, and a bill about the Release return address.

Treas. Legislative – Jim Covington said the Cemetery Bill was on the Governors desk, there is a bill concerning manufactured homes, and Alynn brought up Senate Bill 194 concerning the Health Dept.

Linda Statz asked about the Public School Fund.  All counties receive the report from the Schools, but only part of the counties actually receive money.

IACREOT – Karen Sheaffer told how to get info for the conference in Phoenix at their website: IACREOT.com.

June Conference – Sharon Jones said the conference is in Steamboat Springs and was told the rooms would be $155 per night, and the associations are going to try and help supplement.

GTS – They had a users meeting on Thursday before the Eastern meeting started.

Nominating Committee – Bob Sagel and Jim Covington

Program Committee – Karen Sheaffer and Susie Velasquez

Entertainment Committee – Lynne Bauer and Jim Covington (he will dance for tips)

The fall Eastern Division was set for September 11th & 12th.  Jim Covington has talked with the Holiday Inn Express for the September meeting. They quoted him $70 for Queen room and $80 for King room. Dee Ann moved to hold our meeting at the Holiday Inn in September, Wanda seconded, and the motion was carried.  Lynne asked if we wanted to change our picnic-in.  The group decided to stay with Arby’s and Jim will get ˝ cold sandwiches and ˝ hot sandwiches.

The meeting was adjourned.

We had a break so everyone could check out of the motel. The CTSI film planned for after break couldn’t be watched since the T.V. didn’t work, so there was a round table discussion. At 11:30 we had lunch at Southside and everyone headed home.
