March 19 & 20, 2009

Thursday, March 19:

After pizza and salad at the Comfort Inn, Lynne Bauer welcomed everyone. There were 35 present. Lynne made a few announcements, and then welcomed John Lefebvre who gave a presentation on the Manufactured Housing Procedures. There was a brief round table for different issues and questions.

After the break, Bob Sagel and Carol Snyder went over the changes in HB 09-1207. 

The group met at Maverick’s for dinner, and Bingo and other games were played afterwards at the motel. 

Friday, March 20:

After the Pledge of Allegiance, Lynne called the meeting to order and the minutes and Treasurer’s reports were passed out.  They were read by the group.  Susie and Debby’s names were spelled wrong. Diane Christner moved to accept the minutes with the corrections, motion was seconded and the motion was carried. The Treasurer’s report was presented for audit. Linda mentioned the balance was getting [large] and if there were any ideas to spend some money. After some discussion, Susan Cochell made a motion to pay for paid members of Eastern Division’s rooms at the fall meeting.  Diane seconded and the motion was passed.

Lynne asked for Committee Reports:

P.T. Legislative – Bob Sagel mentioned we already had gone over the P.T. changes on Thursday.

IACREOT – Karen Sheaffer said it will be in Spokane, WA on July 5-12.

Summer Conference – Susan Cochell said Conference will be in Carbondale June 22-26. Jim also added a few items about the changes in the schedule.

The place for the fall Eastern Division was discussed.  Connie Joiner had sent a letter with an invitation to Cripple Creek, with motel prices.  After some discussion Jim moved, and Alynn seconded to hold the fall Eastern Division in Cripple Creek, and the motion was carried.  The dates will be September 17th and 18th. Lynne thanked Jim for all the years he hosted in Limon, and Bob was thanked for hosting this year in Fort Morgan. 

Linda asked the group if she could get a debit card.  The motion was made and seconded, and carried for her to get a debit card.

Nominating Committee – Wanda Lowery and Jim Covington

Entertainment Committee – The casinos will be the entertainment in Cripple Creek. Debby Morgan and Susie Velasquez were thanked for providing games the night before.

Program Committee:  Margaret Chapman and Diane Christner.

After a break and checking out of the motel, Diane Christner gave a very insightful training on self defense.

 

Meeting was adjourned and lunch was held at Maverick’s.
