March 16, 2006

President Alynn Huffman welcomed everyone to the meeting.  The minutes of the September meeting were approved.  The Treasurer’s report was handed out.  We have a balance of $11,704.47. Report accepted and filed.  Linda estimates that the hotel will be around $2,000.00 and the meeting expense about $1,500.00.

 Michelle Miller gave us an update on Travis and Darrell Garrett.  They are in a rehab center in Oklahoma City and are slowly improving.

IACREOT

Connie Joiner reported that the dates of the next conference are July 5-8, 2006 in San Francisco and if anyone is interested in attending to contact her.

CONTINUING EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Jim Covington reported that the committee met in February and discussed several questions that had come up.  They are working on classes through Mesa State and on classes online for deputies and staff.  Public Trustee accreditation will have a starting date of October.   This is for dues- paying members.  There is a lot of cross-over of classes.  If a certification is renewed within 2 years it is not considered to be lapsed.  The deadline for renewal is the last day of June. 

SUMMER CONFERENCE

June 26-30, 2006 in Grand Junction

SEMINAR

October 16-20 in Fort Collins.  Theme is the 50’s.

COMMITTEES

The program committee of Jack Arrowsmith, Karen Schaefer, and Billie Mills was thanked.  Roxy Huber and Bob Sagel were thanked for all their work on the legislative committee.  Jack, Karen and Billie will be the program committee for September.

ENTERTAINMENT

Jim Covington  and Bob Sagel are in charge of the evening’s entertainment.  They were appointed to be the committee in September also. 

NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Jim Covington is the chair and Connie Joiner and Alta Mae Brown volunteered to help Jim. 

Linda presented Alynn with her future outgoing President gift as she had already lost and found it 3 times. 

Roxy Huber presented an update on the salary bill and thanked Karen Schaefer and Dee Ann Stults for their testimony.

MARCH 17, 2006

Roxy Huber and Bob Sagel presented the rest of the legislative report.  There are several bills of interest to the treasurers and Bob is hopeful that the foreclosure rewrite will be presented in early April.  Thanks to the both of you for all your hard work.   Roxy said that they will work on the Great Colorado Payback next session. 

Marilyn Bullard from Douglas County gave an E-business presentation. 

Patrice Neef from Douglas County gave a presentation on Check 21.

The next Eastern Division will be in Limon September 14-15, 2006.
