President Alynn Huffman welcomed everyone and 33 enjoyed lunch.  Because of the windy conditions we stayed at the Tyme Square Inn and our guest speaker Leola Harris gave an informative presentation on bankruptcy.  We adjourned at 4:30 and carpooled out to the home of Jim and Rhonda Covington for a barbeque.  Thank you, Jim and Rhonda!

 Friday September 15, 2006

President Alynn Huffman called the business meeting to order.  The minutes were read and corrected to show the correct spelling of Karen Sheaffer’s name.   Sorry, Karen.  The treasurer’s report was given by Linda Statz.  The 2007 dues are due and Linda will be getting the bills out to all members soon.  Jim Covington moved we purchase new name badges.  Wanda Lowery seconded.  Motion passed. 

 Program Committee:  Thank you, Linda, for lining up Leola Harris.

 Games Committee:  After the barbeque the dice game Phase 10 was enjoyed by several members.

 Accreditation Report:  Jim reminded everyone to sign the sheets after all sessions attended to be sure and receive the credits.  He will be putting some information on the email as to who has signed the sheets.  Patty Bartlett did take one of Mesa’s on-line classes and reported that it was very good.

 IACREOT:  Connie Joiner reported on the July meeting and told us that Myrna is in charge of the entire Treasurer’s portion, and invited all to become members.

Western Division:  Jim Covington reported that they met on September 6, 2006 and they are modeling their division like ours and the dues will be $100.00.  There will be a meeting at the fall seminar in October.

Fall Seminar:  Will be held in Fort Collins October 16-20.

 e-Recording:  No report

 Foreclosure workshops:  Jack Arrowsmith reported that the CD’s will be out prior to the meeting on October 13th.  Jack thanked Bob Sagel for his part in the first workshop.  The surveys revealed that Jeopardy was a big hit.  The next session will include breaking into groups and working on foreclosures cases with the new statutes.  Jack also told us that the Portal Authority has designed a payment engine that counties can use to take Mastercard and Visa.  They have content management software to county websites.  The next e-Business summit will be hosted by the portal in the Dillon area in the mid spring.  Jack is the one local government rep. and they could use more.

 Our next meeting will be in Limon on March 15 & 16, 2007.  The members thanked Bob for his hard work on the website.  The program committee for March will be Chair Karen Sheaffer, Linda Statz and Jim Covington.

 Nominating committee:  Jim Covington, Connie Joiner and Alta Mae Brown.  Sandy Berry moved to keep the current slate of officers.  Alta Mae Brown seconded.  Motion passed.  The group thanked Jim for his work on the site coordination.

 Legislation Report:  Roxy Huber called and they will be working on removing the 15 day requirement for payment on the delinquent notices.  Ken spoke on splits and mobile homes.  The next meeting of the mobile home group is October 23 in Broomfield.  Bob Sagel reported that there will be a cleanup bill on the PT side and they will be looking at the release language for using the same form across the board.  The next meeting will be October 6 in Jeffco.

 New business:  Jim asked for approval to purchase a large storage container for the paper goods, etc for the meetings as his box needs to be retired.  Bob made the motion to allow the purchase, Larry seconded.  Motion passed.  Some discussion about the Treasurers and PTs that will be retiring was held.  Meeting was adjourned.
