TREASURY NOTES

August/September, 2003

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT:
Steve Hutt, Denver County

I want to start my term as President with four Thank You's:
First to Gini Woltemath and the other Treasurers from District 5 who helped her put together such a great Conference for us in Canon City.  I think everyone will agree that the setting for our meeting right at the top (edge!) of the Royal Gorge was the most spectacular location and view we have enjoyed in our years together.
Second, my thanks go to Jim Covington for his service to the CCTA this past year as our President.  His years of experience guided us through the biggest transition we have ever had, with a turnover of 21 members, due to term limits and retirements.  Despite the physical pain he was in prior to his surgery, he was always ready to do whatever needed to be done for the Association.  I hope to be able to do the same as I follow in his footsteps.
Third, I want to thank all the members of the Executive Board who agreed to stay on the Board and serve another term.  As you saw at the Thursday night banquet, they are an exceptionally able group, with everyone of the returning members now having received Accreditation!
Fourth, a big thanks to our veteran members for making our new members feel so welcome, and an equally big thanks to our new members for joining in and already involving yourselves in the Association.
I hope to be able to travel to Eastern Division meeting and the other District meetings around the state this year.  Just let me know when those are scheduled, and I will try to be there.  Enjoy the remaining days of summer.  Fall and Seminar will be here before we know it.

A Message from

Gini
For our first newsletter, starting this New Term, I decided to use the appropriate letter Heading of "64".  But then after this first newsletter, I'm afraid you will be seeing the old "63" for a while.  I absolutely must have thousands upon thousands of stationery with the old logo.  OH, WELL - QUE SERA SERA.

I must admit that after the Conference, I was kind-a lost.  I missed running out to the Royal Gorge from time to time and meeting at Buckskin Joe's with the staff out there also from time to time.  I asked the staff at Canon Inn - "Do you miss me?"  I just hope all of you had as much fun as I did putting it together.  I did find out that Doris Porth, Custer County, DID miss my daily calls for moral support.  haha!

Included in this newsletter, is a copy of the Opening Welcome by George Turner at our meeting on Tuesday.  I had several requests for a copy of the speech so I decided to just include in in this newsletter.  Enjoy!  (Webmaster note: I am not including this on our web site.  If you want a copy, contact Gini.)

Also included in this Newsletter is the agenda for Eastern Division Meeting to be held on September 18th and 19th.  I will be unable to get a September Newsletter out since I HAVE to accompany my husband on a trip to Lake Powell.  OH HUM!  (Webmaster note:  Here are links to the Agenda and Registration form.)

So the next Newsletter will be the first part of October.  Please send me articles and any news worthy items ANYTIME, and I will get it in that newsletter.

HOPE TO SEE MANY OF YOU IN LIMON FOR THE EASTERN DIVISION MEETING.
