MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Wow, it's almost 2004! This year has zoomed by too fast. Of course, all the years are doing that anymore. They tell me it's due to maturity.
Many thanks to Myrna, Irene and Linda for the great seminar. We really do appreciate your efforts. Also a big thank you to Eagle Computer Systems and the Colorado Bar Association for hosting our breakfast and break. Finally, thanks to all the members who participated in the discussions and presentations. We have such a great resource of talent in our Association.
There haven't been a lot of new developments since Seminar. The E-Business committee has continued meeting. Check the web-site for the minutes of their meetings. The Legal Counsel committee is in the process of contacting several attorneys and hopes to have the position secured by the end of the year or shortly thereafter. Ackerman and Associates are keeping a close eye on any legislative developments and will notify us if anything arises.
The release and foreclosure statistics are posted on the web-site. They are quite a few gaps. If you have time to compile the figures for the past three years, please send them to me. Also, for those of you who submitted statistics, I would appreciate receiving actual 2003 figures after the first of the year.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.
Bob Sagel

Message from Peggy Foley, Pueblo County Public Trustee
Some of the Public Trustees have been receiving recorded documents in their office that are entitled:
"Notice of Dismissal of Trustee"
"Amendment to Deed of Trust"
"Revocation of Deed of Trust"
"Verified Certificate of Procedure to File"
We believe this is coming from seminars given by a company called "Global Debt Solutions". The seminar teaches people how to "eliminate" their debt by going through certain actions. They have a web site and you can check it out at www.globaldebtsolution.com.
Several of us have consulted our attorneys and have sent the attached letter. If you receive any of these documents and feel you should respond, feel free to use the letter and customize to your county. You may also review the documents and letter with your attorney.
Sample Letter
Dear _______:
On _________________, 20___, we received from you the following documents that were dated ____________________, 20____.
"Notice of Dismissal of Trustee"
"Amendment to Deed of Trust"
"Revocation of Deed of Trust"
"Verified Certificate of Procedure to File"
Upon receipt of these documents, it is the understanding of the ___________ County Public Trustee that there is no legal basis for the representations set forth in the documents. We see no lawful means by which we can take any action or recognize your claim in any way.
