COLORADO COUNTY TREASURERS' ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The scholarship will be $1,000 per year up to $4,000 for four years to be used for costs of higher education at a college or university.  A two year vocational or trade school are also applicable.

Eligibility Criteria: Maximum age of 22 years for submission of original application.
  Must be high school graduate or GED equivalent.
  Must be child, grandchild, stepchild, step grandchild or legal dependent of an active Treasurer.
   
Deadline: Applications must be received by April 15th.
   
Application to include: Copy of high school/college transcript.
  Wallet size picture.
  Three letters of recommendation from non-relatives.
  Letter in 500 words or less describing how the CCTA scholarship will help you achieve your career goals.
  Completed application (Appearance and thoroughness).

Any application received by the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee postmarked after the date of April 15th shall not be considered by the committee.  The Scholarship Committee shall consist of the current President of the CCTA and three non members appointed by the Executive Board.  The President shall be a non voting member who will help facilitate the committee and the application process.

The student's grade average will be considered, but the grades will not be the only factor considered.  The needs of the student, whether the student is receiving any other scholarships, the student's desire to attend college or trade school and any other pertinent information may also be determining factors.  The Committee will use the following guidelines:

1. Grade point average 30%
2. Need 30%
3. Outside activity/interests 20%
4. Application (appearance & thoroughness) 10%
5. Judges' discretion 10%

 

 

 

The scholarship will be awarded at the end of the academic year.  $500 per semester will be paid directly to the recipient after proof of admission has been received by CCTA.  Satisfactory grades must be maintained and verification of attendance submitted with request for funds.  Request for funds should be made by the student to the Secretary/Treasurer of CCTA at the beginning of each semester and should include grades from the previous session and proof of enrollment in the upcoming or current session.  An invitation will be extended to the recipient and two guests to attend the annual summer conference with travel, one night's lodging and dinner provided.
