Minutes for the Continuing Ed committee meeting
The Continuing Ed
Committee met on February 15, 2006 in Denver. Present were Jim Covington, Doris
Porth, Michelle Miller, Karen Sheaffer and Ed Murray by phone. Not in
attendance were Monika Todd and Alta Mae Brown.
The following
questions were fielded:
- If there is a
lapse in certification the applicant will have 2 years from the date of
expiration to file the renewal. The new expiration dates will now be at the
end of June.
- CTSI classes
qualify for electives.
- Presentations
given need to be topics concerning Treasurer and Public Trustee issues before
they qualify for points.
- To earn points
as a speaker, panel member or instructor your resume must be submitted to the
Continuing Ed Committee for approval. Use this approval for certification
points.
- Quadrennial
only counts once and earns 12 points in the experience module.
- To receive
points from Treasurer meetings and/or Public Trustee meetings you must belong
to the association that is presenting that class.
- Public Trustee
certification began Seminar 2005.
- The Certificate
of Achievement for deputies will be determined at a later date.
- The deadline
for the 2006 certifications will be extended to March 15, 2006 with
notification to the applicants to take place April 15, 2006.
- In order to get
a program approved for points a Certification Program Course Syllabus must be
submitted to the Continuing Ed chair for approval by the committee and
applicants will be notified.
