DISCUSSION ITEM
Annual Summer Conference
Site inspection was held
at the Antlers Hotel in Colorado Springs where the summer conference will be
held the week of June 28, 2010.
Some details of the contract were reviewed.
The preliminary agenda was reviewed and additions and changes were
suggested to Sandra Damron. All
days of the conference are open to both the CCTA & CPTA membership – but ONLY if
dues are paid to BOTH associations OR if extra funds per event are paid with
conference registration. The agenda
will denote the sessions that are more applicable to the CCTA membership and
most of those sessions are scheduled for the first and second days of the
conference. Some sessions on those
first two days are applicable to both the CCTA and CPTA members and both
Treasurers and PTs will receive continuing education credits for those sessions.
CCTA paid members attend the extra activities and evening sessions with
no additional charge. CPTA paid
members attend the extra activities (breakfast, breaks and lunch) on PT day at
no additional charge. Anyone NOT paying dues to BOTH associations will need to
pay the charge for the extra activities of the association to which they do not
pay dues. The banquet on Thursday
is for dues-paying members of EITHER association and will be a plated dinner.
Installation of officers for both associations will be done at the Thursday
night banquet. It was suggested to Sandra that she should obtain from the
Treasurers of the two associations a list of paid dues memberships so that she
can compare those when Conference Registrations begin coming in.
It was also suggested that the final, printed Conference programs need to
indicate which sessions will provide Continuing Ed credits for Treasurers, PTs
or both.
Public Trustee day is
scheduled for Thursday, July 1st.
Tom Mowle is in charge of the Public Trustee day.
An Executive Board meeting will be held on Public Trustee day.
Tom was asked to try to get door prizes to be handed out during breaks on
PT day. Tom will work with Carol Snyder to finalize the PT day agenda after
checking with Rich Krohn and Ackerman Information on their preferences for
timing of their presentations.
Discussion was held regarding "gifts" of
appreciation for board members and outgoing Executive Board members for both
associations. It was agreed by
those attending that the associations should pay for those gifts up to a maximum
of $150 for the outgoing association presidents.
Gifts to other board members etc. would generally be of more nominal
value.
Meeting adjourned at
3:15 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Susie Velasquez, CPTA
Secretary
